"a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit" (James 2:15-16 NKJV)

Spiritual Life"6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God." Romans 8:68:6 Peace is the resolution of the intense warfare described in ch. 7, as well as the inward harmony and tranquillity that results from yielding to God. 8:7 A believer can live according to the flesh with the result of death (James 1:13), or else by the renewed spirit, so as to experience life. In vv. 7, Paul elaborates on these two possibilities, showing the possibility and the benefit of living according to the spirit. 8:7 The reason that being carnally minded results in death (v. 6) is that the carnal mind is an enemy of God. The mind of the flesh is hostile to God and can never submit itself to the law of God.
