 "a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit"         (James 2:15-16 NKJV)

Leadership

 Short coming of the church Paul letter to Titus (Summary)

1) Lack of organization in the churches

2) Un-challenge false teachers

3) A need for teaching in doctrine and practical living

Psalm 37:4 delight yourself also in the Lord and He shall give you the desire of your heart.

1Timothy 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desires a good work.
:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
:3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
:4 One that rules well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
:5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

LEADERSHIP

  • FAITH (James 2:18) Leaders in the Church must have faith that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. They develop this faith through prayer, scripture study, obedience, and repentance. As we nourish the seed of faith, it will grow within us and bear fruit that is most precious and sweet
  • LOVE (Matthew 20:27)leaders should serve the people they lead. He told the Twelve, ‘Whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant’
  • (Mathew 25:31-40)::31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
    :32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
    :33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
    34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
    :35 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
    :36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
    37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
    :38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
    :39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
    :40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
  • OBEDIENCE - Leaders need to obey the Lord’s commandments so they can set an example for others and be worthy to receive guidance from the Holy Ghost. Obedience shows love for the Lord

    (Mathew 26:29)But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

    (John 5:30) I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

  • UNITY is essential for success in every organization of the Church. more will be accomplish when they are unified and counsel together. Understand and agree upon each responsibilities. Avoid Usurpation of authority.

    (JOHN 17:20-23) Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also      which shall believe on me through their word;
    :21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
    :22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
    :23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

  • SACRIFICE Leaders may be called on to sacrifice their possessions, or they may be asked to sacrifice their time, talents, and personal pursuits to further the Lord’s work. As leaders sacrifice for the Lord and His kingdom, He promises to bless them in all things

    (Mathew 19:29) And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my Name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. Without sacrifices, we would never be able to develop the faith necessary for eternal salvation.

  • When ministering three things need to be remembered
    1. Friendship. Genuine friendship helps members feel loved and welcome.
    2. Church responsibilities. Fulfilling the responsibilities of Church callings and assignments helps members grow spiritually and strengthen their commitment to the Lord and His Church.
    3. ‘Nourish[ing]  Personal study of the scriptures, as well as teaching in family and Church settings, helps members increase their understanding and strengthen their testimonies of the gospel
