"a
brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to
them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the
things which are needed for the body, what does it profit"
(James 2:15-16 NKJV)

We communicate with
God through prayers
Prayer is a relationship between the
created and the creator. There can be many different answers to prayer,
just as there are many ways to "hear" the answers. Some may be audible,
others may interpret healing, or specific physicals signs as answers to
their prayer. How the answer is given and in what time frame it is given
can be as varied as the requests themselves. Some outward acts that
sometimes accompany prayer are: anointing with oil; ringing a bell;
burning incense or paper; lighting a candle or candles; facing a
specific direction (i.e. towards Mecca or the East); making the sign of
the cross. One less noticeable act related to prayer is fasting.
5 "And when you pray, you shall not be like
the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on
the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I
say to you, they have their reward. 6 But you,
when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray
to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father
who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7
And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do.
For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
8 "Therefore do not be like them. For your
Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
9 In this manner, therefore, pray
(Matthew
6:5-9)
"I am the way, the truth, and the
life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

I Come to you Father in the name of Your Son Jesus
Our Father in heaven
Hallowed be your name
Thy kingdom come
your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
Forgive us our debts
As we forgive our debtors
And do not lead us into temptation
But deliver us from evil one
For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever, Amen
